Provide Spiritual Nourishment: While adhering to the doctrine and dogma of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, the churches contained within the Eastern Diocese of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Churches in Canada will partake in daily prayers, the
Wednesday and Friday fasts as prescribed in the Didache, celebrate the Holy Liturgy including participating in the Divine Liturgty and receiving the Holy Eucharist, the reading of the Gospels
and Psalms along with the patristic teachings handed by the apostolic fathers and successive church fathers.
Promote Religious Education: With the implementation of Sunday Schools (Senbet Timhirt Bet) and Bible study groups centred on the apostolic faith of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo faith,
the congregants are able to fully engage with the spiritual repisotry of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.
Foster Community Engagement: Through the various committees organized in the respective Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Churches in the Eastern Diocese, they will retrospectively carry out activities that align with the spiritual teachings of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church along with organizing outreach programs in their communities to strengthen bonds among our members while positively imparting the greater society at large.
Preserve Liturgical Traditions: We are committed to maintaining the integrity of our worship practices, including the use of Ge’ez in Divine Liturgy along with the observance of traditional fasting and feasting periods. Under the spiritual leadership of His Eminence Abune Demetrios, the Eastern Diocese continues to grow and adapt to the evolving needs of our community. We are dedicated to building upon our strong foundation.
